After spending some time with Windows 7, XP, Ubuntu 9.04, and Mac a few things occurred to me. My favorite OS from top to bottom.
Ubuntu 9.04
Windows 7
Mac OSX
Windows XP
It is here and in full bloom. I tested the 64 bit and 32 bit editions respectively. The 32 bit edition felt slow and doggy compared to the 64 bit brethren on the same hardware.
Hardware Tested:
Intel Core i7
Intel Core 2 Duo
Intel Pentium 4 3.2ghz
AMD Phenom x4
AMD Athalon x2
AMD Athalon 3700+
512MB 32 only
1gig ram 32 and 64
4gig ram 32 and 64
8gig ram 64 only
16gig ram 64 only
Nvidia 9800gtx
Nvidia 7200gs
Intel Integrated Graphics

The price has fell to competitive rates. OSX is really beautifully done, a true work of art. iLife is totally amazing and some of the applications are must haves. iPhoto has facial recognition, iMovie is well put together, iDVD is an awesome DVD menu making tool, iWeb is a great simplistic WYSIWYG web page editor(although not as feature-full as Dreamweaver and Fireworks). iWork is awesome as well. It has true full screen editing in Pages Numbers, and Keynote taking any and all distractions away.
